David Neel – Prostate Cancer Patient Story

David Neel – Prostate Cancer

I hadn't been to my urologist in several years. My daughter is a certified Physician's Assistant and kept urging me to go.

I made an appointment, and tests revealed that my PSA was high. I went back two months later and my PSA levels hadn't gone down.

A biopsy revealed that I had prostate cancer. I considered my options and chose radiation

I started treatments in fall 2012. I was lucky; throughout my 44 treatments I never got sick or had severe symptoms. My radiologist, Dr. Robert J. Piroli, and his team at Jefferson Regional Radiation Oncology, a partner of UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, were wonderful. My appointments were always professionally handled, and the caring attitudes of the staff made the time spent in treatment much less stressful. My heartfelt thanks to everyone!
