Jan Drappatz, MD, is a neuro-oncologist, an associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and the associate director of the Adult Neuro-oncology program at UPMC. Dr. Drappatz specializes in the treatment of primary and metastatic brain tumors and neurologic complications of cancer.
Dr. Drappatz is board-certified in neurology with subspecialty certification in neuro-oncology. He received a medical degree at the Johannes Gutenberg School of Medicine in Mainz, Germany. He completed a residency in neurology at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and fellowship training in neuro-oncology at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women's Cancer Center, and Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston. He was on-staff at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School for six years.
Dr. Drappatz is a member of numerous professional organizations, including Society for Neuro Oncology, American Academy of Neurology, American Association for Cancer Research, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the International Primary CNS Lymphoma Study Group.
