John C. Rhee, MD, is a medical oncologist and hematologist at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. Dr. Rhee is skilled in the management of all forms of cancer and blood diseases, with particular interest in cancers of the gastrointestinal tract and chest, including colorectal, esophageal, gastric, pancreaticobiliary, liver, neuroendocrine, and lung tumors.

Dr. Rhee is board-certified in medical oncology, hematology, and internal medicine. He studied drug delivery at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering. Dr. Rhee received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where he also trained in internal medicine and hematology/oncology.

Dr. Rhee is active in UPMC Hillman Cancer Center's Specialty Care Centers. He is a member of the American society of Clinical Oncology and has published in several medical journals, including Journal of Clinical Oncology, Journal of Immunotherapy, Digestive Disease ; Sciences, Expert Opinion in Emerging Drugs, Case Studies in Oncology, and The Oncologist.
