Secondary systemic amyloidosis is a disorder in which abnormal proteins build up in the tissues and organs and form clumps, called amyloid deposits. “Secondary” means that it occurs because of another disease, often from multiple myeloma. “Systemic” means that the disease affects the whole body.

Our customized secondary systemic amyloidosis treatments can include stem cell transplantation, based on your individual needs.
The Mario Lemieux Center for Blood Cancers offers secondary systemic amyloidosis clinical trials to provide patients with access to new treatments that may not be available elsewhere.
