Secondary systemic amyloidosis is a disorder in which abnormal proteins build up in the tissues and organs and form clumps, called amyloid deposits. “Secondary” means that it occurs because of another disease, often from multiple myeloma. “Systemic” means that the disease affects the whole body.

Our Treatment Approach

Our center provides patients with access to a team of highly trained secondary systemic amyloidosis experts, including hematologists, oncologists, pathologists, and allied practitioners. Our customized secondary systemic amyloidosis treatments can include stem cell transplantation, based on your individual needs.

Clinical Trials for Secondary Systemic Amyloidosis

The Mario Lemieux Center for Blood Cancers offers secondary systemic amyloidosis clinical trials to provide patients with access to new treatments that may not be available elsewhere.
