Part of UPMC Hillman Cancer Center's mission is to move cancer knowledge beyond the walls of our hospitals and into the communities we serve.

Cancer Outreach — a program of UPMC Hillman Cancer Center — works to increase the awareness of:

• Various types of cancers.
• Cancer risk factors.
• The importance of early detection and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Our wellness events focus on and encourage:

• Cancer screenings and early detection.

We hold wellness events in a variety of settings throughout the community, including:

• Hospitals.
• Workplaces.
• Schools.

Cancer Presentations and Lectures

Community groups and organizations often ask Cancer Outreach to speak on specific topics, such as breast cancer. Speakers are UPMC Hillman Cancer Center oncology nurses and social workers.

Presentations provide evidence-based information and — depending on the topic — may include:

• Lectures.
• PowerPoint slides.
• Videos.
